Grandma's Chocolate Pie #ChristmasSweetsWeek

This post is sponsored in conjunction with ChristmasSweetsWeek. I received product samples from sponsor companies to aid in the creation of the ChristmasSweetsWeek recipes. All opinions are mine alone.

My Grandmother's Chocolate Pie recipe, It's a rich chocolate pie, has a pie shoppe quality.
I have found that I like to use really good quality chocolate for the recipe, it's the one time I don't skimp and buy the cheap store brand!

I only make this for special occasions, so it's Holidays only usually for us, so when I make this you know it's a special treat! You can make this in a graham cracker crust or a regular pie crust. I've done both.

When I first found the hand written recipe on a piece of scratch paper in a collection of other recipes in an envelope, I thought, OK.. This is one I'll be tackling for sure. When I did try and make it, I found either some of the portions for the ingredients seemed off, or the directions seemed missing some steps. My first pie didn't turn out, so I set the recipe aside for a lot of years and didn't try again. But then, I decided to try again. Tweaked it here and there and kept trying, until now.. I am finally starting to get it where I think she'd be pleased with my efforts.

I miss her so much, and I think, making her recipes, and sharing her stories, is one way to help make them feel closer to you.
