I love a traditional apple crisp in my cast iron skillet or a 9 x 13 pan, but there are times I LOVE to toss together this wonderful version in my slowcooker and go about my afternoon and come back to such a wonderful treat ready to go it is hard to keep your family away from the pot!

Crockpot Caramel Apple Crisp
Crockpot Caramel Apple Crisp just pulls together everything you'll love about autumn! sweet spiced apples , caramel and a crispy oat topping slowly simmering away in the ease of a slow cooker, filling your homes with the scents and flavors of fall!
ingredients:
Apple Mixture
- 12 oz. of caramel candy chopped
- 10 apples peeled, cored and sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Crumb Topping
- 1 cup oats
- 1/2 cup cubed butter
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
instructions:
How to cook Crockpot Caramel Apple Crisp
- Spray crock pot with non stick cooking spray and set aside. If using a disposable crock pot liner, spray the liner with non stick spray also.
- Chop caramel into small pieces with sharp knife, set aside.
- Mix sliced apples, cinnamon, cloves, and flour in slow cooker., gently stir in caramels also.
- In a small bowl, add the topping ingredients; butter, brown sugar, flour, and oatmeal and cut with either a pastry blender or 2 knives until you have a crumbly texture.
- Spread crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture in the crock pot.
- cover with lid, and cook on high for 2hours or low for 4 hours.
- When done, spoon out into bowls and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
NOTES:
Feel free to reduce the sugar or caramel in this recipe if you would like to make it a bit less sweet. Leave the flour amount the same to absorb the juices and create a nice caramel sauce, but play around with the brown sugar and or the caramel if you'd like!
