Baked Spaghetti Pie is a great way to take dinner to a friend. It is also perfect for making into a freezer meal from the gallon of left over spaghetti sauce I always seem to have when I make it.
You can make it in a regular square pan as well, but I have an abundance of pie pans so I usually make mine this way, and keep in the freezer.
Ingredients:
1 small box spaghetti pasta
2-3 cups leftover spaghetti sauce with meat
1 cup shredded cheese.
Directions;
Cook Spaghetti Pasta (enough for 4 servings) to al dente according to package directions.
Drain pasta and pour into a pie pan
Press pasta up the sides and to fill bottom of pan.
Pour 2 cups (or 3 cups if you have it left over) of prepared spaghetti sauce with meat
Sprinkle 1 cup cheese on top.
Bake at 350° for 20 minutes till hot and bubbly. (and cheese is melty).
to Freeze rather than eat right away.
After preparing spaghetti pie, wrap in freezer wrap.
Store in freezer up to 2 months.
thaw overnight or 8 hours if possible (but you can bake it from frozen, itll just take longer).
Remove any plastic wrap you may have used to cover it.
350° oven 20 minutes if thawed, 60 minutes or so if frozen till hot and bubbly and cheese is melty.
